Weekly-adjacent, I have a conversation with Brian about Colin's thoughts and they come out to you like a newspaper column. This column is for opinions, short stories, essays, and general multi-purposes writing. Subscribe here, it's free!
MUSIC
I have been making music since I was a kid! All of my work is intertwined with music in some way or another. I think there are just some things words can't say.
Stupid Short Songs
An ongoing project found on my Instagram, Stupid Short Songs are just that, sometimes stupid, always short. This project has streamlined my ability to write, produce, record, shoot, and edit and has allowed me to infuse comedy into music (a real favorite of mine)
Lou Broke is the artist moniker I go by when making more serious and genuine music.
"The artist project of writer/composer Colin Rhoades, Lou Broke explores the inner child he holds dear. The Chicago native/LA creative drowns out the gunk and funk of the world by escaping back to more innocent times. Combining lush musicality with colorful chords, and pairing it with high concept/low budget filmmaking, Lou Broke hones in on the imagination he doesn't want to fade away.

"I Feel Changes" by Lou Broke
This video was made as a Halloween Special. The concept started from wanting to work with a miniature and show a Werewolf transition more so through music than through visuals. All editing was done by me!
